Starting from the week commencing 13.01.2025, we are continuing to offer the following three clubs:
Word Warriors (Debate) Club with Mrs Stone and Mrs Allen - Tuesday 3.30 – 4.30pm – 30 spaces
Mrs Allen and I are excited to inform you that our school is launching a Debate after School Club next half term, open to children who are eager to develop their public speaking, critical thinking, and argumentation skills. Debate offers a fantastic opportunity for children to engage with diverse perspectives, sharpen their communication abilities, and build confidence.
The club will meet weekly, and we encourage all interested children to join, regardless of prior experience. Through participation, they will gain valuable life skills and have the chance to participate in both in-school and inter-school competitions.
If your child is interested in joining the Debate Club or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to fostering a spirit of respectful and thought-provoking discourse in our children.
Thank you for your support!
Boomwhacker Club with Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Duncan Thursday 3.30 – 4.30pm – 20 spaces
Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Duncan are thrilled to announce the start of our Boomwhacker Club! This fun and engaging music-based club is open to children who are interested in learning rhythm and teamwork in a creative, hands-on way using Boomwhackers—colourful percussion tubes that are perfect for young musicians.
Through the club, our children will explore music-making in a dynamic and energetic environment, all while developing coordination, timing, and listening skills. No prior musical experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to have fun!
The Boomwhacker Club will meet weekly, and we encourage children from all years to participate. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to explore music in a unique way and express themselves creatively.
If your child is interested in joining the Boomwhacker Club, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We look forward to creating some wonderful music together!
Plot Twisters (Book) Club with Miss Collins Monday 3.30 – 4.30pm – 25 spaces
Miss Collins is also excited to announce the launch of a new Book Club at Bolsover Church of England Junior School! Our goal is to encourage a love for reading, inspire creative thinking, and provide a fun, interactive space for students to share their thoughts about books.
The Book Club will meet once a week in Shireen Class. Each session, we will discuss a selected book that students will read ahead of time. The books will be chosen to suit their reading level and interests, and we encourage open, thoughtful discussions in a relaxed and supportive environment.
We believe that this is a great opportunity for our children to engage with literature in a new and exciting way.
We look forward to seeing many young readers join us and embark on these literary adventures!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
As always, if your child is successful in getting a place, the club leader/s will get in touch with you via a direct message on Class Dojo.
If you do not receive a dojo message, unfortunately this time, your child has not got a place. We will do our best to ensure that by the end of the year, every child who would like to join an after school club will get the opportunity over the year.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
