Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of our children is our highest priority. We are fully committed to providing a secure, caring, and supportive environment where every child can learn, thrive, and feel valued.
We believe that all children have the right to be protected from harm and we take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. This includes protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and ensuring they are safe both in school and online.
If you have any concerns, please talk to us.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:
Claire Bailey- DSL and Headteacher
Alex Bradshaw- DDSL and Deputy Headteacher
Carolyn Richardson- DDSL and SEND Coordinator
Frazer Pothecary- DDSL and Inclusion Leader
Amanda Slaney- DDSL and Pastoral Leader
Our curriculum, alongside the wider opportunities we provide, equips children with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe and to seek support if they feel concerned.
Through the curriculum and the wider opportunities provided, the school seeks to ensure that all pupils are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resilience required to safeguard themselves, and are confident in knowing how and when to seek support should concerns arise.

Prevent Duty
Prevent is about supporting and protecting people who might be susceptible to being drawn into terrorism.
All our staff and LTC members (governors) have completed training on the Prevent Duty and how to recognise and report signs of extremism and radicalisation.
DSLs have access to the Counter Terrorism Local Profile and are mindful of the information within it (this is not in the public domain). This ensures that we:
- keep up to date on current priorities
- have access to policing teams badge numbers and direct phone numbers, including the Regional Engagement Officer
- have awareness of any community tensions
- potentially seek additional training, such as ideology training
- filter information as necessary to staff
Government Guidance on this duty can be found by clicking this link Prevent Duty Guidance.
Our Prevent Lead, Mrs Claire Bailey, is supported by our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, Mrs Amanda Slaney, Mr Alex Bradshaw, Mrs Carolyn Richardson and Mr Frazer Pothecary. Our Prevent risk assessment can be accessed here
