Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome from the Headteacher
Mrs Claire Bailey
We are delighted to welcome you to our school website where we hope you will find the information you are looking for. Please do not hesitate to contact us for anything else that you wish to know.
Here at Bolsover Church of England Junior School, we recognise just how important each day is for a child and we are committed to working hard to ensure the children receive the very best education and leave with memorable experiences to last a lifetime.
Every child is unique and has the opportunity to develop and grow as a learner at Bolsover Church of England Junior School. We feel it is vitally important that children learn about and connect with their communities. By doing so, this broadens their horizons to the impact they can have on the wider world and the insight to where a fantastic education can lead them in life. We strongly believe it is important to ensure that our children are equipped for the experiences they face as they grow up and that having a positive view of themselves is really important to them succeeding in a rapidly changing world.
Our curriculum offer is broad, balanced and bespoke. By delivering the National Curriculum, we aim to foster a love of learning where every individual has a voice, choice and ownership over their learning journey. We champion outside of the box thinking and empower our children to take action alongside their learning wherever possible. Our approach presents children with problems faced in society (past and present), an understanding of perspective and the opportunity to pursue their passions. We further enhance our curriculum with extra co-curricular provision which presents the children with a range of enriching avenues in which to deepen their learning.
We are a proud member of Derby Diocese Academy Trust (DDAT) who are pioneering in their drive to improve educational standards for all. We are part of a team who strive for such excellence and are presented with a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise from our fellow DDAT family of schools. We are fortunate to be supported with technology and resources which can break down barriers to learning, help us act more sustainably and prepare children for the technological world they will be responsible for shaping.
Community is at our core and we value every stakeholder within our immediate and wider network, including connections across the globe.
Very best wishes,
Mrs Bailey
